“Delicious Inflight Treat: Ryanair Flight Attendant Fired After Impromptu Baking on Plane”

Coming Full Circle: Discovering What Really Matters After Being Fired By RyanAir

It’s the stuff of lore – the last year of Miguel Vasconcelos’ life. The flight attendant made it big on TikTok due to his unique antics, from baking a cake in the air to entertaining his passengers. But it was the world’s reactions to his videos that shed light on the true culture within RyanAir, ultimately leading to his dismissal. Now, after reflecting on the experience, Vasconcelos is no longer “totally unfair” and is using it as a stepping stone for his career.

Wondering How It Happened?

Last November, @miguellamv posted a video of himself baking a cake on board a RyanAir flight, and it immediately went viral. In the video, he can be seen smiling and engaging in the experience, which amassed over 3 million views and thousands of curious comments, some of which asked how he was allowed to do it.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and some commenters suggested that he might get in trouble with his employer. They were right.

What Got The Ball Rolling?

It wasn’t long until RyanAir came down wielding the sword of judgment, deciding to let Vasconcelos go after 13 months of dedicated service. So why did this happen?

In his own words, “I think it was a mixture of all the videos I posted which were seen as disruptive and unprofessional in their eyes… It was a lesson.” he later admitted in a 2.5 million view video apologising for his behavior.

Reflecting on the Experience

Vasconcelos’ message was highlighted by the reactions of comments, with most sympathizing on the lessons found from the experience. One commenter highlighted the importance of professionalism in the workplace, while another reminded viewers of the need to stay professional even during times of fun.

The majority of comments, however, were of support. One commented highlighted his friend’s story, noting how one door closed and another opened when he was fired – a common narrative and one that Vasconcelos cites in his own words as inspirational.

Finding the Positive

It’s easy to be bogged down in the negative, and it was clear that the situation with RyanAir was not ideal. However Vasconcelos was able to find the positivity to use it as a catapult for his career.

“I am happy. With my head up looking for the positive side,” he concluded. “I love the universe and the universe loves me back. So I know this is just another step on my life journey, so it’s okay.”

With such a positive outlook, it’s hard not to be inspired by Vasconcelos’ words. His story is an example of how life’s experiences can shape us and how, even in the darkest of hours, there is light ahead.
